About

Colorado is home to many sector partnerships which are supported by the Governor’s Office through the Colorado Workforce Development Council. Sector partnerships help communities coalesce business needs and unite public partners in supporting those needs.

The South Central Tech Sector Partnership began in March 2018 and is focused on nurturing a flourishing #RuralTech ecosystem. South Central Tech has been an important partnership led by businesses and supported by a host of public partners including education, workforce, economic development, regional/local government, and community non-profits.

Our History

On March 9, 2018, our work culminated in Region 13 becoming officially recognized as the state’s second Technology Sector Partnership. This team effort included leadership from over 20 innovation sector businesses, the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, Upper Arkansas Area Council of Governments (UAACOG), multi-county economic development leadership and our primary and higher education organizations, including Pueblo Community College’s (PCC) Fremont Campus Dean and the PCC Computer Information Systems Department Chair. PCC is a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education and an instrumental addition to our program efforts.
